Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly is Fall Corporate Formal (FCF)?
This is an annual event that FLEG hosts to provide an opportunity for undergraduate engineers of all disciplines to network with company representatives and UF faculty.
How does FCF run?
- The main portion will consist of four 20-minute breakout rooms, each with different company representatives.
- You can discuss school, careers, live in the work field, and other topics you feel are pertinent.
- This is a casual networking event: feel free to use personal experience when talking to students and open the floor for questions.
- Students will move rooms after each individual breakout session in accordance to the schedule that they received previously; VIPs remain within the same breakout room throughout the duration of the event.
How do I join the event?
- You will receive an emailed Zoom link before the event; this link will give you direct connection to the Zoom.
- If you have any questions or concerns regarding this, please contact the representative that sent the invitation or EVP Emma Muscato at (559) 320-6721or fleg.vpexecutive@gmail.com
What do I do if I need to leave early/arrive late?
- Simply send us an email with time you can attend and we’ll adjust the breakout sessions accordingly. If it doesn’t fit your schedule, you are not obligated to attend the entire event.
Is this a recruitment event? Will I be reading/evaluating resumes?
- Not at all, the event will be focused on networking. No member will be expected to bring their resume either, everything will be conversation based. However, you are free to discuss internships or other opportunities via email.
- You are welcome to add students on LinkedIn if you would like.
What do I wear?
- While the students will be wearing business formal, you are free to wear whatever makes you comfortable.
Do I need a webcam?
- While it is optional, we recommend using a webcam. This is especially helpful for creating more personal conversations in the breakout sessions.
Do I need to have anything prepared?
- No, you don’t need anything. This is meant to be a candid conversation where the FLEG can get to know you and learn from your experiences.
Who should I contact if I have other questions?
- Feel free to send any questions to the email address you received your invitation from.
- You can also contact EVP Emma Muscato at (559) 320-6721or fleg.vpexecutive@gmail.com.
